This section will go through the steps of installing AyaNova for users with basic requirements:
| 1. | Both program and database are installed to the same folder on the computer local hard drive |
| 2. | Only one instance of the AyaNova program is run from this same computer |
We invite you to use this configuration for ease of install and use when first testing AyaNova.
The basic installation is performed as outlined below even if moving to network Firebird or SQL server, so please do review.
Refer to the Technical section of this manual for additional installation and configuration for use for networks (database is shared to networked computers) and/or SQL Server
Installation
| 1. | Uninstall any previous AyaNova v3 installation |
| a. | Use of previous program files or previous beta AyaNova database will result in corruption |
| 2. | Install Microsoft .NET Framework 2 and applicable service patches. |
| a. | Check if already installed by opening Control Panel -> Add/remove Programs -> scroll to determine if Microsoft .NET Framework 2 is installed |
| b. | Refer to the Microsoft downloads web page http://www.microsoft.com/downloads if you do not already have this installed. If not displayed under Popular Downloads, enter Microsoft .NET Framework 2 in the Search for a Download section |
| c. | Be sure computer has been rebooted if just installed |
| 3. | Log into the computer as its administrator with full access |
| a. | Do not attempt to install via remote access |
| 4. | Ensure no other programs are running. |
| 5. | Download the AyaNova v3 installation file from the AyaNova web site if have not already |
| 6. | Extract the setup files to a temporary folder on the local hard drive |
| 7. | Double-click the extracted Setup.exe file to begin the installation. |
| 8. | Follow instructions and information in each of the installation screens. |
| 9. | Be sure to select Installation access for everyone if users other than the computer administrator will log in. |
| 10. | Installation will ask for location on local hard drive to install both program and database. It is recommended to take the default location. |
| 11. | Installation will continue and complete. |
| 12. | Reboot system |
| 13. | And that is it – start using AyaNova via the icon installed to the desktop |
| 14. | Refer to the information on backing up your data when using the single user configuration (default installation) |
