Installation & Configuration of ImportUnitCSV

1.	AyaNova v3 must be installed and operational on this computer before proceeding

2.	Download the ImportUnitCSV Utility zip file from the AyaNova v3 web site http://www.ayanova.com/download.htm

3.	Extract the two files to the AyaNova v3 program folder (default location is C:\Program Files\Ground Zero Tech-Works Inc\AyaNova 3)

4.	Right-click on the AyaNova.exe.config file and select Copy

5.	Rename this copy to ImportUnitCSV.exe.config

The AyaNova database must be licensed to be able to run the import utility.

Refer to further in this section for information on exporting and importing units using the ImportUnitCSV utility

NOTE: Using Microsoft Excel to create or edit CSV files may cause errors and be unable to be imported.

A CSV file created or saved by Excel will 99% of the time cause an error to occur as it will not include quotes, sometimes will not make allowances for empty fields, may misinterpret returns or comma’s in the field as being a separate field.

If you presently have an Excel file that is in correctly formatted for the number of fields and placement of fields, and for data – once that is completed, than it is suggested and recommended to import it into a table in Microsoft Access. Right click on the table, select Export…, select CSV from the drop down list and the CSV file will be created correctly with quotes and commas.

If you do not have Microsoft Access, once you have correctly formatted the CSV file using Excel, you can zip it up using WinZip and send it to us with a nicely worded request if we would import/export it into Access to get the final CSV format correct after you have correctly ordered the columns, number of columns etc.
