Filtering a grid allows you to restrict what displays based on the filter – making it easier to find the record you need to access. Filtering can be via one column or multiple columns in one grid.

You could select <ALL> to set no filtering, <A – H> to display only data that begins with the letters A through H, and so on, or scroll further down to select a specific already displayed data to filter by.
If to obtain the filtering desired, none of the existing selections work for you, than select <Custom> which will bring up the custom grid screen whereby you can set even more advanced specifics on what to filter by.
This can be as simple as setting the “Operator” to “Greater Than Or Equal To”, and the “Operand” to “H” (type in the letter H) which would filter by returning all clients beginning with the letter H or higher. Or it could be as complex as entry in query commands to display based on some intricate filter.
It is suggested that you try different scenarios till you get the results you need. You can always return to <ALL> or any other filtering easily.
Filtering may not be a feature in sub-grids such as the Contact sub-grid, or within a Purchase Order, etc.
If the column header has
If it does not, then it can not be filtered.
For example, this is a screenshot of the sub-grid column headings in a purchase order – it can not be filtered.
When you filter a grid, those filters will remain the next time you view the grid. This is very useful if you always what to view a grid the same way.
For example, if you are a schedulable user, you may not want to view all schedulable users Workorder Items, but only view your own.
Therefore you would place filters on the Workorder Items grid to display workorder items where only your schedulable username is selected.
If the username you use is used by multiple users, do note that if that username is logged in multiple times, any filtering you set may be overwritten by others also logged in under that same username.
For this reason, it is recommended to have every user log in under an individual username. Do NOT log into AyaNova with the same username multiple times. |
