You can not for example, change the start date & time from the Labor grid for a workorder – you must open the workorder to change the Start Date & Time for a Labor entry.
Example:
To open and edit an existing service workorder from a navigation grid:
From the Service navigation pane, select the Service Workorders grid, click on the field under the Workorder column that displays the service workorder number. (this is just an example on from one grid where you can open a workorder - you can open from many different grids)
To open a Dispatch Zone sub-grid from a navigation grid:
From the Clients navigation pane, select the Clients grid, click on a field under the Dispatch Zone column that displays a name of any Dispatch Zone. (this is just an example from one grid where you can open a sub-grid - you can open from many different grids)

As above, you can access entry screens for other objects even though you are not in "their" screen.
For example, even though you are not viewing the Clients grid, you can open a client's entry screen from the Service Workorders grid by selecting the client name under the Client column.
