How do I determine if I have the latest version of AyaNova service management software?
Simply log into AyaNova and select from the main menu Help -> About AyaNova to see what version of AyaNova you presently have.
If you are running AyaNova 6 or newer, you can also select the menu Check for updates which will check online to see if your AyaNova is the latest version. If not, a web page will open for details on updating to the latest version
As of March 4 2010 the latest version of each release of AyaNova is:
- AyaNova 6.2.0.0
- AyaNova 5.1.0.0
- AyaNova 4.2.0.0
- AyaNova 3.6.0.0
- AyaNova CE 1.9.4.4
What is the difference between maintenance updates and upgrades?
Maintenance updates are provided free of charge, and provide fixes and new features within the same major version number. For example, all maintenance updates that are for version 6.x such as 6.1 are provided at no charge. Maintenance update steps are always posted in the AyaNova Support Forum Known Issues & Updates
If your present AyaNova is version 6.0 or newer, just select Help -> Check for updates to see if there are any new maintenance updates available
Upgrades are new major versions that are available for existing AyaNova users of older versions to upgrade to at a discounted price.
For example, if you are originally purchased AyaNova 4.x licenses, you can upgrade to the latest AyaNova version 6.0 at 50% off the regular license price for the same number of licenses.
Is there a charge to upgrade from 5.1?
No charge, as AyaNova 6 is a free upgrade for AyaNova 5.x licensed users. We understand that the ecomony is not as strong as we would all like, and to show our support, we have provided AyaNova 6 as a no charge update for AyaNova 5.x licensed users!

An Activation key for version 6 is not needed to upgrade to AyaNova 6.x if you were previously licensed for AyaNova 5.x

Yes. We know that the economy is not as strong as we would all like, and to help out, we are happy to offer a 50% discounted upgrade price to upgrade your existing licenses to the latest AyaNova version - with the optional ad-on PTI and/or MBI upgraded at no charge.

What are the steps to upgrade to a newer version?
Depends on the version of AyaNova you are upgrading from and what configuration you presently have:

Can I try out the latest AyaNova service management software without affecting my live data?
Yes - you would set up AyaNova 6 service management software and database separately from your existing live older AyaNova.
For example, make a backup of your existing older AyaNova database as per that version's Online Help on Backup and Recovery; and then restore to a different computer configured with AyaNova 6; request a temporary key providing your registered company name and apply to that test setup of AyaNova 6. If any questions, attach a copy of your ayalog.txt file along with your questions in your email to support@ayanova.com
Do note that if you are presently using the very old AyaNova CE 1.9.4.4, the AyaNova 6.x installation defaults to a completely different folder than the AyaNova CE program as well as is a completely different program and accesses a completely different database - so you can install AyaNova 6.x, request a temporary key, and then test import your AyaNova CE data without affecting your actual live AyaNova CE database.
