It is always recommend to read through all instructions first before proceeding.
1. Before proceeding, make sure that you know your AyaNova Administrator username and password - log in and try it first.
One of the many new features of AyaNova 6 that were provided in AyaNova 5 is that ONLY users of type Administrator have access to grids/features of Administration pane regardless of rights given to prevent viewing by non-Administrator users and accidental changes. So if your AyaNova Administrator is the only user that is of type Administrator and you do not know the AyaNova Administrator username and password, you won't ever be able to edit users, security groups, etc.
If you do not know your AyaNova Administrator username and password, before upgrading to AyaNova 6 log in as another user that does have rights to the Users grid, and edit the AyaNova Administrator username and password, and keep that username and password in a safe place (i.e. in a safe).
2. Make sure you have a successful backup of your AyaNova 4.x database file AYANOVA.FDB
3. Uninstall any previous AyaNova programs via Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
4. Download the AyaNova 6 installation file from http://www.ayanova.com/download.htm if not already downloaded and install
5. Perform the stand-alone AyaNova 6 installation steps
6. Run AyaNova 6
7. Log into AyaNova 6 as the AyaNova Administrator
8. Apply your AyaNova 6 keycode to your data as per its instructions.
9. You have now upgraded your AyaNova 4 database to AyaNova 6
10. Refer to Backup & Restore with the stand-alone single computer default installation for backing up your AyaNova 6database.
11. Refer to the AyaNova Support Forum if any issues with upgraded report templates http://forum.ayanova.com/showthread.php?1302-Report-error-issue-for-some-AyaNova-6-users
