AyaNova CE was our previous version of AyaNova. CE stood for “Classic Edition”.
AyaNova CE was first released for commercial use December 1999. The last released AyaNova CE version number was 1.9.4.4
From 1999 till 2006 AyaNova CE had been expanded with many free maintenance updates. We eventually got to the point where adding any additional features required a lot of rewriting while still imposing some major limitations, in most cases resulting in being unable to add a new feature at all. We therefore embarked on development of the next generation AyaNova.
Some of the new features that have been added are:
| • | AyaNova v5 is developed using .NET, utilizes the Firebird or SQL Server database engine and includes many new features and additional ease of use. |
| • | Simplified installation and configuration - AyaNova and most optional add-on's and utilities are now integrated in a single easy to use setup allowing for fast installation, easy network configuration and easy maintenance updating. |
| • | AyaNova is now more intuitive to what a user needs to do – making it easier to use for all personnel in a service company |
| • | Auto Refresh - All main grids and schedule form now automatically refresh themselves every 5 minutes. This ensures users are always presented with an up to date picture of the AyaNova database and schedule. |
| • | One service work order screen – all work order information is entered on one screen so you never lose track of who the work order is for (work order header info) (work order item header info). A work order can be a brief as needed or as in-depth as needed. Many additional workorder features such as ability to move or copy workorder items, scheduled multiple schedulable users, request parts to be ordered and much more. |
| • | Templates - service workorders, quotes and preventive maintenance can now be created from a pre-filled template. This is a huge time-saving feature for automatically pre-entering information |
| • | Follow up feature (also available in Quote, PM, Client, Unit and Contract entry screen). This allows users to easily set reminders for specific workorders or other objects. |
| • | Grids - all records display in a grid format so that you can easily see at a glance what records you have. |
| • | Grid Filtering - can filter any of the columns that records are made up of on grids, making it easier for sorting, finding a specific record, printing specifically what records you want and more. |
| • | Inventory – maintain inventory of parts, enter and receive Purchase Orders, determine stock and much more |
| • | Localization – edit the standard labels for fields using what is appropriate for your service industry and business in any language |
| • | Custom Fields – ability to add additional custom fields to many of the AyaNova screens. |
| • | Internal Designing of Reports – with the internal reporting feature, you can customize layout and data fields in existing reports plus create your own. |
| • | Notification – Users can subscribe to being notified when certain events happen in AyaNova. |
| • | Banked Service – This allows tracking of banked hours, incidents or currency (money amount). Enter either manually or automatically via a workorder item’s Labor. |
| • | Outlook style Schedule screen – View multiple schedulable users at one time, or individual schedulable users. Create new workorders and add directly to existing workorder items. Create views to display based on skills, certificates, as well as dispatch zones and regions that schedulable users belong to. |
| • | Horizontal time line Schedule screen - in addition to the "Outlook style" with its vertical time line, includes the ability to view the day in horizontal time line similar to the old AyaNova CE schedule. This feature is particularly useful for dispatching |
| • | Graphical and report printing from Schedule screen - Schedule screen now has two print menu options - an improved graphical reporting capability and a new feature that allows printing standard workorder reports directly from the Schedule screen. This will save the user time in accessing and printing the relevant workorder reports quickly and easily. |
| • | Expanded Preventive Maintenance features – as the Preventive Maintenance creation screen is based on the service workorder screen itself, it is very straightforward to create a PM that can be for multiple Units at one time, schedule multiple users, ability to set a stop date, ability to specify parts and much more. |
| • | Documents – link documents on your server to Clients, Units, and Service Work orders and allow other users access to these documents regardless of network setup. |
| • | Quotes – as Quote creation is based on the service workorder screen itself, it is very straightforward to create a quote for a customer, and then with the Copy to Workorder button, create a workorder based on what was entered without having to re-enter everything, while still maintaining a copy of the quote. |
| • | Most Recently Used list - Quick access to the most recently opened objects. This saves the user time by making it very easy to go back to something they were just working on |
| • | Regions - The Regions feature of AyaNova 5 has been greatly expanded to provide the ability to limit user access to data and report templates based on region. |
| • | Wiki - With AyaNova 5 you can now upload files directly to be saved in the AyaNova database so that users regardless of their location in the network or remote via Data Portal or accessing via WBI can access. Wiki is a knowlegebase feature that allows AyaNova users to freely create and edit documentation for an AyaNova "object" (be it globally, a purchase order, a service workorder, etc) that supports hyperlinks, can embed images, allows the user to attach documents that are accessible by all users, and is search retrievable via the Search Database feature. |
