The Unit sub-screen:

Identifies the unit to be serviced via this workorder item
Displays warranty information on the unit
Displays Last Closed Workorder number and the service date of that last closed workorder
Displays Purchased Date and Receipt Number for that purchase
Identifies type of unit service
Provides meter reading entry via the menu option if meter reading enabled for that unit
Provides viewing of meter reading history via the Unit jump button if meter reading enabled for that unit

To be able to maintain a service history for each Unit, only one Unit is selectable per workorder item.

In this way, parts used in service of this Unit, the amount of labor, outside service required will all be maintained for this individual unit.

You can select multiple units in a service workorder by selecting each unit within a separate workorder item within that service workorder.

Unit display information

UnitSelectWO2

When a unit is selected, information about that specific unit will display in non-editable text below it.

Warranty information is derived from the units unit model warranty settings in relation to the purchase date of the unit; or the unit's Override Warranty settings are in relation to the purchase date of the unit.

Do note that if no warranty information is entered in the unit model for this unit, and no override warranty information is entered, than of course, no warranty information will display.

If the unit had been at any previous time selected in a workorder that is now Closed, that workorder's number and Service Date will also display.

The Purchase Date and the Receipt Number as entered in the Unit's entry screen will also display here.

Although the user can also quickly select the Unit jump button to open the Unit's entry screen and see this information, this information displayed here allows the user to see at a glance making it perhaps easier and quicker to make decisions on service rate, etc.

Unit Service Type

Whereas the Type column in the workorder item grid is to identify the type of service requested, an additional service type selection on the Unit sub-item screen is provided to identify the service pertaining specifically to that selected unit.

For example, whereas you may select Business Network Service as a Type in the workorder item grid, you may further identify that the Unit being selected is Warranty Service.

This is useful for filtering via the Scheduled List grid and for reporting purposes to identify the types of service being performed.

Click on the Unit Service Type button to open up the Unit Service Type grid whereby you can create new or edit existing Unit Service Types.

Or if a unit is not yet entered into AyaNova, you can create it from this workorder. Click on the Unit jump button with no unit selected, and a new unit entry screen will open with that client already selected so that you can enter the unit's details. When you save, you are returned to the workorder where you can now select the unit from the drop list.
