Top  Previous  Next

The default English locale is not directly customizable. You must create a copy of an existing locale, and than edit that custom locale.

1.Select the menu option New… from the Localized Text Design menu toolbar

2.Select the source to copy from, and the new locales name
a.Select the source locale English
b.Enter in a descriptive name for the custom locale as you will be selecting it for each user within AyaNova.
i.The name field is restricted to no more than 15 characters.
ii.In our example, we entered the companys sample name

c.Select OK
3.Be patient while it copies all master localized text to this new locale name
4.Your custom Locale now displays.
5.A suggestion on use is as you know what the existing AyaNova text is for a label, is to perform a search for it, and replace it with the new text locale you wish.
a.For example, if we wanted to replace throughout AyaNova all instances of the text label Client with the text Customer even when it is part of another label (for example “Client reference #”), perform the following:
b.Select the menu option Find and Replace

c.Enter in the text Client in the Find field
d.Enter in the text Customer in the Replace field
e.Select Replace

f.If you than scroll down through the grid, the fields that were replaced will be highlights

g.You can of course just use the Find option, so that you can manually edit each individually.
h.Select menu option Save & Exit when completed
i.Your custom locale will now display in the list of locales.

Setting AyaNova users to use the custom Locale or another language

A Users entry screen Default Language overrides the Default Language set in Global Settings.

If you have created a custom locale, do set the Default Language in Global Settings to this new custom locale so any newly created users will default to using.

For existing users, from the User entry screen you need to change the Default Language to your custom locale for each existing user.

Remember, a change in locale does not take effect until the user has completely exited and than next logs in.

This is because localized text for labels is loaded only when the user newly logs in.

You can also change the default language for any newly created users by selecting Deutsch (German), Español (Spanish) or Français (French)

Do note that you can not edit a user with the trial AyaNova. If you would like to preview AyaNova using one of the additional three locales, log in as one of the following:

Username        Password                Uses Locale

german                german                Deutsch

spanish                spanish                Español

french                french                        Français
