Create new workorder with client not yet entered

Top  Previous  Next

In this tutorial example, we will go over the initial steps of creating a new workorder, and what to do if the client is not yet entered into AyaNova.

As you can enter a lot of data "on the fly" with AyaNova, this is no issue at all.

Do note that this is an overview only, and does not cover every time saving and useful feature of the workorder entry screen. Do review this Help file's entire section on Service Workorders for complete overview and suggestions on use.

1.A client calls and would like work performed

2.There are a number of ways you can start a new workorder for a client:
Select New... from the Service Workorder grid, and select the client from the list

You could of course do a search for the client via the Search Database - enter the client company name, or their phone number etc. If it displays, right-click and select New service workorder

Or you could filter on the Clients grid (straight filter or use the [custom] filter selecting Operand of Contains and entering part of their name. If it displays, right-click and select New service workorder

3.In this example, we will select New... from the Service Workorder grid which opens the client and template section window

4.Start typing in the name of the client - for example, if the client's company name is Millie's , type the letter "m" - note how the list jumps to the first client name with the letter "m"

5.You could now use the scroll to scroll and look for the name, or continue typing the client name to see if it comes up

6.In our example, Millie's is not yet a client entered in AyaNova

7.So, we select nothing (note the - selected in the client selection which indicates nothing selected) and click on the Client jump button

8.This opens a new empty client entry screen, so we can enter as much details of the client at this point as we want - you can just enter the client name at this point, or go ahead and get all of the information.

9.In this case, we are just going to enter the client name, save, which returns us back to the client selection. Client name is the only required field so we can do this. Note how the client we just created is already pre-selected for us? Click on the OK button to create the workorder

10. Now the new workorder opens, and we can enter details as needed.

11. Also note that you can add client information such as address, phone number, etc via the Client jump button in the workorder - you do not have to close the workorder to do so. It is suggested that you save the workorder in between as saving your work on a regular basic is always recommended.
